The Family Council toolkit is intended to introduce families to a family council exploring what a family council is, its key functions and activities, how to set one up and how it interacts with other entities in the governance ecosystem.

This toolkit is designed in a way to be a primer for a family considering establishing a family council. There is no ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to a family council, it is up to the family to decide what will work best for them. As a result, this toolkit is not prescriptive but rather should be utilized as a guide to start the process and initiate discussions with family members and advisers.
